Simon Webster has been a journalist for more than 25 years, working as a writer, editor and subeditor in fields including travel, sport, finance, wine and environmentalism.

He studied at the London College of Printing and worked for TNT Magazine in London and Sydney before joining Fairfax, where he became deputy chief subeditor of The Sun-Herald and a subeditor for The Sydney Morning Herald as well as a columnist for both publications. His book, Daytripper: 52 Great Days Out in the Sydney Area, based on his travel column in The Sun-Herald, was published by ABC Books in 2007.

As a freelancer since 2008, he has worked for publications and websites including The Guardian,, Reader’s Digest, Australia Unlimited, QantasLink Spirit magazine, Organic Gardener and Sydney Morning Herald.
